By reducing the optic pressure to the right level, you'll immediately see the effects around the engraved surface. However, avoid reducing the pressure completely, or else smoke will get into the beam delivery. 

2. Burning the Laser Through the Material

However, other sensitive materials like glass or acrylic should be engraved at low temperatures but high speeds for the best results.
